Meet a local author in a Lancashire library

0

A fiction writer who recently launched her debut novel will visit two libraries next month.

K.D. Ray will be at Knott End Library and at Garstang Library in November for special free events.

The author will be talking about her book, speaking with visitors at the event and signing copies of the debut novel, ‘For the Best?’

The book is about life being influenced by the paths that are taken. It is also about how taking an alternative decision could have made a life so different. In the book, the character Sophie knows exactly how her life could have been, and this knowledge haunts her, and tears her family apart until a tragedy forces her to face her demons.

It is free to attend the events at each of the libraries, but tickets are limited and must be booked in advance.

The events will take place as follows:
Knott End Library on Tuesday 6 November at 3pm
Garstang Library on Thursday 8 November at 3pm

County Councillor Peter Buckley, Lancashire County Council’s cabinet member for community and cultural services, said: “These promise to be really interesting events.

“I hope that the debut novel goes well.”

K.D now lives in Cockerham, and is originally from Tameside.

Tickets for the events can be booked by calling in at the libraries.

For more information about the events, phone 0300 123 6703, or go to www.lancashire.gov.uk/libraries.

Anyone who lives in the UK can join a Lancashire library, either online or by visiting in person. Membership is free and there are no age restrictions.
