Invitation for the public to find out about partnership working in health and care

0

Members of the public are invited to find out more about partnership working to improve health and care for local people on 1st March 2018 between 11am and 1pm at Blackpool Central Library, Queen Street, Blackpool. This is followed by the Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups, which the public are invited to observe.

Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria is the partnership of NHS and council organisations working together to improve outcomes and care for local people, reduce pressures on services and make best use of our financial resources.

Prior to the committee meeting, there is an opportunity to ask questions and share views about the work taking place across health and care and to find out how organisations are working together to involve local people in improving health and care across the region.

The Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups is a meeting of the eight Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in Lancashire and South Cumbria and will be responsible for making decisions about any future proposals referred to it by the CCGs. Decisions will be referred if they require a Lancashire and South Cumbria approach, but most decisions about healthcare will continue to be taken locally.

The Joint Committee of Clinical Commissioning Groups consists of GPs and lay members from each of the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Lancashire and South Cumbria. Chief Executives from Blackpool Council, Lancashire County Council and Blackburn with Darwen Council, representatives from district Councils and local Healthwatch are not members of the Committee but attend the meetings.

Following the meeting there will be an opportunity for questions from the public to the Committee.

If members of the public would like to attend, they are asked to contact Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria on 01253 951630 or by emailing healthier.lsc@nhs.net and provide details of any specific requirements they might have. Please let us know about your plans as it enables us to organise drinks and seating arrangements at the venue.
