Information appeal made following robbery in Burnley

An appeal for information has been made by police following a robbery in Burnley. The incident occurred at around 10:40pm on Wednesday 18th March close to the library on Coal Clough Lane, when a 50 year old local man was pushed to the ground and was robbed of his mobile phone.

The victim was unhurt but he was left shaken.

The robber was described as being a white man, aged about 18, five ft 10ins tall wearing dark clothing.

Det Con Dave Greenwood, of Burnley CID, said ‘This was a cowardly attack and I would appeal for anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time to contact us.’
