Information appeal made following aggravated burglary in Skelmersdale

Skelmersdale Police are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in Skelmersdale.

Police received a report that at 9:12am on Saturday (April 13th) a man had entered the Lite Express shop on Fairstead in the town.

The suspect then forced their way into the back of the shop and made their way in to the office causing damage. He was carrying a large knife.

The offender is described as white, tall, wearing high visibility work trousers.

It is believed an amount of cash was stolen.

Detective Constable Kate Molloy, of South CID, said: “This threatening behaviour was carried out in daylight on a Saturday morning at a shop many local people use. Luckily no one was injured, however the offender was carrying a weapon which could have caused significant harm.”
