Information appeal made after man is robbed at knifepoint in Wigan

An appeal for information has been made by police after a man has been robbed at knifepoint in Wigan. The incident occurred at sometime between 11:15pm and 11:30pm on Wednesday 20th July 2016, when a man was approached on a footpath leading from Fraser Road to Scot Lane, between the park and the football field.

The man has put a knife to the chest of the victim and has taken a quantity of money before they have run off into an estate nearby.

The man has been described as being white, in his mid 30’s; he was 6ft tall with a slim build. The man had a shaved head and a clean shaven face. He had been wearing grey shorts and had no top on. The man spoke with a local accent.

Police Constable Chris Wynne, of GMP’s Wigan borough, said ‘This was a frightening incident for the victim and it is fortunate that they were not injured. They have been left shaken and in shock by the ordeal and I would urge anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.’
