Hotter Shoes named Cause Related Marketing Partner of the Year by terminal illness charity Marie Curie

Hotter Shoes have been named Cause Related Marketing Partner of the Year by the terminal illness charity Marie Curie at their second annual Fundraising Excellence Awards ceremony in London.

The awards were held to celebrate the many people who have dedicated hours of hard work and commitment to support Marie Curie through various fundraising activities and raised hundreds of thousands of pounds to help the charity provide care and support for people living with a terminal illness and their families.

Hotter Shoes were nominated for the award in recognition of their amazing daffodil-inspired designs of their best-selling Mabel, Pixie and Tara shoes, with a phenomenal £20 from every pair sold going to Marie Curie, helping to provide care and support for people living with a terminal illness and their families.

Starting with the bespoke version of the Mabel in March 2018, teams across the business worked together to design the new shoe in record time to launch in support of the Great Daffodil Appeal 2018. Hotter produced 2,000 pairs of the limited-edition Mabel, raising over £37,580 in total. The collaboration between Hotter, Wingfield PR and Marie Curie lead to widespread national coverage in the Daily Express, Sunday Mirror, S Magazine, Notebook, Prima and the Sunday Mail.

Following the success of the Mabel shoe, Hotter went on to launch a second Autumn CRM on Hotter Shoes’ Pixie boot as well as launching a daffodil print version of the Tara, a third CRM, in February 2019.

Hotter Shoes’ colleagues and customers have further supported the partnership, going above and beyond by gifting a select number of shoes to Marie Curie nurses, holding numerous different fundraisers, tea parties and staff events helping to raise more than £75,000 for the terminal illness charity.

Mel Killilea, PR and Social Media Manager at Hotter Shoes, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have received this award from Marie Curie. The fantastic work carried out by the charity is very close to the hearts of both Hotter staff and customers alike and we are extremely proud to be able to lend our support to help Marie Curie continue to provide invaluable care and support to people living with terminal illnesses.”

Meredith Niles, Marie Curie’s Director of Fundraising and Engagement said: “It was an honour to attend the Fundraising Excellence Awards to thank our valued supporters for all they do for Marie Curie and the many people and their families they have helped to support.

“Hotter Shoes are such an inspiration who have gone above and beyond for the charity. Everyone at Marie Curie is so grateful for their support. We hope that receiving this award as recognition of their efforts shows how important they are to us. Without everything they do, we cannot continue our vital work.”

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading charity for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. The charity offers expert nursing care, guidance and support to help people get the most from the time they have left.
