Health and wellbeing marketplace at CCG’s annual review event

Residents are being invited to come along to NHS South Sefton Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) Annual General Meeting (AGM) where they will be able to browse a variety of stalls being hosted by local services as part of a health and wellbeing marketplace.

On Thursday 12 September, the CCG is holding its combined ‘Big Chat’ and AGM event. It is an opportunity for local health bosses to showcase the CCG’s achievements from the past 12 months and ask attendees for their views about its forthcoming plans. The event will also focus on the recently published NHS Long Term Plan and how it will impact Sefton.

Dr Craig Gillespie, local GP and NHS South Sefton CCG chair, said: “We are really proud of our work over the past year and want to share our achievements with our residents. As well as being a great opportunity for people to learn about the work we do, it is a chance for them to input into our work by giving their views about our plans for the year ahead.

“Ahead of the main programme, people will be able to spend some time browsing a marketplace with a range of health and wellbeing related stalls. It’ll showcase some of the fantastic services we have in Sefton and people will be able to find out more about what they do.”

Some of the services and organisations attending this year’s event include:

  • Sefton CVS Macmillan support
  • Stroke Association
  • The Feelgood Factory and Living Well Sefton
  • Mersey Care’ s podiatry service
  • Aintree Hospital

In addition, there will be advice from the CCGs’ medicines management team, whilst IMerseyside will be showcasing some of the latest technological advances coming to GP practices in Sefton.

Craig added: “If you haven’t already done so, I would encourage you to register to come to the event. It will be incredibly informative and productive.”

The event will be taking place on Thursday 12 September, 1pm to 4.30pm at Bootle Cricket Club, Wadham Road, L20 2DD.

People are asked to register in advance by emailing southsefton.ccg@nhs.net or by calling 0151 317 8456.
