Toys are being collected across the borough for children who may not get a present this Christmas.
Wigan Council is running the toy appeal and has asked its staff to donate a toy or selection box to give to children whose families may struggle to buy them a present.
Residents can also donate to the appeal and drop a toy off at a collection point to help families in need.
All donations should be suitable for primary school children aged between four and 11 and the toy should not be wrapped.
Generous residents who want to help the appeal can drop a toy off at Wigan Town Hall reception, Wigan Life Centre North reception and Leigh Town Hall.
Cllr Jenny Bullen, cabinet member for children and young people, said: “These donations will truly help families who may otherwise struggle to buy their children a present. We know our communities are so generous and that is one of the brilliant things about our borough. If you can, please help us to make every child smile this Christmas.”
