There’ll be plenty of spooky characters over Halloween at Astley Hall

Visitors to Astley Hall will be able to enjoy a spooktacular time with lots of fun activities planned for the week of Halloween.

From Saturday 27 through to Wednesday 31 October, Astley Hall will have several ghastly surprises in store for all members of the family, with two fright night movies screening on Halloween.

With a history of unusual happenings and tales of ghostly goings on it’s the perfect place to enjoy the autumnal celebration.

Councillor Peter Wilson, Deputy Leader of Chorley Council said: “The history of Astley Hall makes it the perfect place to celebrate Halloween and we’ve got plenty of events taking place again this year.

“We’ve got a fun day for children and for adults who feel they are brave enough to spend time in the Hall after dark we’re hosting some fright night movies too.

“And to get everyone in the spirit we’re encouraging people to come in fancy dress too.”

The activities include:

· Come and visit the Hall for some free spooky craft activities and a chance to see the historic building dressed up for the occasion – Saturday 27 October 12noon-4.30pm

· The Astley Walled Gardeners are host their Pumpkin Day on Saturday 27 October from 10am – 3pm. It’s a chance to pick a pumpkin and have a go at carving (pumpkins will be limited).

· On Wednesday 31 October we’ve got two fright night films – Nosferatu (1922) at 6pm and Night of the Living Dead (1968) at 8.30pm. Tickets are priced £12 per person, which includes a drink and limited edition wristband if you survive the night.

Tickets for the fright night movies are available at Café Ambio or Astley Hall between 12noon and 4.30pm at weekends and online at astleypark.co.uk/events.
