A local organisation is celebrating after receiving £600 from the Barchester Foundation.

Divine Days Creative Arts CIC have received £600 which will be used for craft materials, art materials and items for use in their dance sessions.

Divine Days Creative Arts CIC was set up to make the Arts accessible to all – they run various creative workshops including Music, Dance, Creative Art and Relaxation.

They offer Creative Dance groups for adults with additional needs perform in schools delivering interactive workshops to raise awareness and promote inclusion and acceptance. They also offer Creative Workshops for schools to explore themes around Health and Wellbeing and self-expression.

They offer a Sensory programme which we deliver in Dementia Care Homes and community settings. They run Creative workshops for adults living with long term health conditions. They also run a Community Connections project which allows the elderly to try activities they used to enjoy and to sample new activities. The elderly can be isolated in terms of where they live. They often lack the ability to access activities they used to enjoy without help. The Community Connections project allows for the elderly to try activities they used to enjoy with support and also to try new ones. This project allows them to take part in an activity which they may not have previously experienced. The activities will improve their mental health and wellbeing by raising their levels of confidence and self-esteem. The activities will bring about a sense of belonging and community.

Edward McCarthy from Divine Days said: “We are delighted with this very kind donation. It is a wonderful opportunity for Divine Days. Thank you very much on behalf of everyone. We have started some new sessions in new locations do this will help with that.”

Barchester’s Charitable Foundation is a registered charity that helps older people and other adults with a disability across England, Scotland & Wales. This year our focus is about connecting or re-connecting people with others in their local community.
