A popular event is set to return to Chorley town centre at the end of April with 8 dance groups confirmed to attend Chorley’s Day of Dance.
Every spring, the Amounderness Ladies Morris dance group descends on Chorley town centre offering shoppers a day of dance and entertainment and this year they will return on Saturday 28 April.
Rebecca Huddleston, Director at Chorley Council said: “Each year The Amounderness Ladies Morris Dance group makes their way to Chorley with other dance groups and they put on a fantastic show.
“Each dance group performs different types of dance and they all come to the town centre dressed in costume for their performances which creates a great atmosphere.
“Shoppers have enjoyed the dance performances each year and we hope to see a great crowd for this year’s performances.
“Improving the town centre offer is one of the council’s priorities and the council continues to encourage performers and entertainers to perform in Chorley and entertain shoppers.”
From 10.30am to 2.30pm, the dance groups, which include Amounderness Ladies, Fylde Coast Cloggers and Stone the Crows, will take over the town centre bringing their infectious moves to Chorley’s pedestrianised streets.
