Cyclist, 55, killed in Colne collision

A 55-year-old woman has died following a collision in Colne.

Police were called by the Ambulance Service around 2.25pm yesterday (September 21) following reports of an incident near to the junction of Skipton Road and Langroyd Road.

A female cyclist had suffered serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a red Man truck.

The woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The male driver of the truck was uninjured. No arrests have been made.

Officers are appealing for information following the collision and would be keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.

Sgt Claire Pearson, of Lancashire Police, said: “These are tragic circumstances and my thoughts are with this woman’s friends and family at this difficult time.

“We are appealing for information and would be keen to speak to anyone who saw either the cyclist or truck prior to the collision.

“If you can help, please get in touch.”
