Council’s warning over People’s Postcode Lottery scam

0

St Helens Council is urging residents to be alert after a scam letter was received by a member of the public – stating that they had won a large sum of money.

The letter, claiming to be from the People’s Postcode Lottery, mentions that in order to claim the cash prize, a processing fee must be paid beforehand.

The concerned resident who received the letter has not registered to play the People’s Post Code Lottery.

Quoted at the top of the letter is an address based in Madrid, Spain. This area is not a genuine address for the legitimate People’s Post Code Lottery.

If you suspect you have received a bogus letter, please contact the Citizens Advice consumer service and seek advice. They can be contacted on 03454 040506.
