Council supports church’s Easter egg appeal

St Helens Council is lending support to a good cause set up by St Helens Baptist Church, seeking to treat some of the borough’s more vulnerable children and young people this Easter.

The church has issued its annual Children’s Easter Egg Appeal to St Helens residents, businesses and organisations, which will go to local families in need.

Those wanting to contribute can drop off their chocolate treats at the St Helens Baptist Church, Hall Street Thursdays between 11am and 2pm or Saturdays 10am to 1pm, until 24 March.

Secondary collection points are situated at Town Hall, Victoria Square; Wesley House, Corporation Street; The Perth Centre, Dunedin Street; and Fingerpost Community Group, Pocket Nook Street.

The appeal comes after organisers ran a similar, successful petition for pyjamas before Christmas that reached 900 local children and young people.
