Council offers English, maths and teaching assistant courses to adults

Want to brush up on your English and maths skills while gaining a qualification in the process? If so, then St Helens Council’s Adult and Community Learning team has the solution for you.

Every Thursday from various locations around the borough, they hold two hour sessions to suit your lifestyle – with morning, afternoon and evening classes available.

Timetable is as follows:

English

  • Thursday 1pm -3pm- English at the United Reformed Church, Town Centre
  • Thursday 5:45pm – 7:45pm- pre GCSE class at the Park Road Centre WA9 1HE

Maths

  • Thursday 9.30-11.30am -maths at Parr Children’s Centre
  • Thursday 1pm -3pm- maths at Crownway Community Centre, Newton

Meanwhile, if you think you can lead by example in the class room, why not train to become a teaching assistant?

September 2016 sees the start of the teaching assistant course, but to get more of a feel of what to expect, there will be an information and assessment morning on Thursday 28 April from 12:45pm – 2:45pm at the Park Road Centre, WA9 1HE.
