Cllr Grunewald statement: Attack on Syrian Family

0

St Helens Council Leader Barrie Grunewald said: “At St Helens Council we are all sickened to hear of the disgusting attack on a Syrian family who have come to St Helens seeking protection after fleeing conflict in their home country.

“We are currently working hard to re-home and support the family, and hope very shortly to have found them suitable accommodation. It’s been encouraging to hear that the local community and neighbours have come out in force to help the family and we would like to express our thanks for the donations that have been given, and the many heartfelt comments that have been made on social media.

“If anyone has any information regarding the attack, please contact Merseyside Police on 101, quoting the Crime Reference Number 0517289293, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
