The Street Scene Service at West Lancashire Borough Council suffered a significant setback following a break in at their depot.
The break in, which happened in the early hours of Monday 30 April, resulted in some items of equipment being stolen and other plant damaged beyond use.
Councillor Kevin Wilkie, portfolio holder for Street Scene, said: “The loss of valuable equipment and significant damage caused to 3 ride-on mowers has delayed deployment resulting in no grass cutting for a week. It is our busiest time of the year and this reckless damage means the teams are behind with the scheduled grass cutting. We ask for your patience as the teams work hard to catch up.”
