This week Barnardo’s is proud to support New Family Social as the charity shares 10 Good Reasons why LGBT people should consider adopting and fostering vulnerable children.
Throughout LGBT Fostering and Adoption Week, which runs from the 5th March until 11th March, LGBT people and couples are encouraged to think about fostering and adoption, with “10 Good Reasons Why” they should consider the options being shared across social media throughout the week.
New Family Social, which runs the week, is also holding LGBT Adoption and Fostering Information Seminars being held in London and Manchester on Thursday, March 8 from 6.30pm. Barnardo’s North West Fostering Service is among the agencies attending the event at the LGBT Foundation, in Richmond Street, Manchester, while Barnardo’s Adoption Service for London East/South East will attend the London event at Lloyds Bank, in Old Broad Street.
Barnardo’s Chief Executive Javed Khan proudly supports the LGBT Fostering and Adoption Week and encourages any LGBT person or couple to make enquiries about how they could transform a child’s life. He said:
“Here at Barnardo’s we see every day how having a stable, loving home can truly make a child’s life change for the better.
“I’m always incredibly proud to hear about the way our foster carers and adopters, including people from the LGBT community, have transformed these young lives.
“I really would urge anyone from the LGBT community who is considering fostering or adoption to get in touch and find out more.”
