Local author Steve Goddard will be visiting Eccleston Library, ahead of National Libraries Day 2015.
Steve, From Crank, will be there at 2pm on 5 February, to talk about his novel Rattles and rosettes, a dual narrative about two fictional football fans during WW1 and 2010, with the two stories eventually connecting.
The talk is an event organised by Eccleston Library to mark National Libraries Day on February 7, 2015, founded as a way of thanking the unique contribution made by library and information professionals, that will be celebrated in local, public, academic and workplace libraries up and down the country.
Rattles and rosettes tells the tale of character, Tom, who follows Burnley to the FA Cup Final of 1914 and ends up in the trenches during World War I.
The other key character, Dan follows Crystal Palace in 2010, on a one-man mission against modern football and music.
The novel also has snippets of life in St. Helens, plus some romantic interest too – so something for everyone.
Copies of Rattles and rosettes will be available to buy at the library.
The event is free – but please book places in advance by contacting Eccleston Library on 01744 677575 or emailing Janeerimmer@sthelens.gov.uk
