Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a post office in Wigan.
Police were called shortly after 3.10am on Monday 4 June to reports of a burglary at Platt Bridge Post Office, Walthew Lane.
Three offenders wearing dark clothing and balaclavas are believed to have used a gas device to explode an ATM at the post office.
One offender then forced entry to the shop and removed a quantity of cash boxes from inside the ATM.
The three offenders then fled in a blue Ford Mondeo, driven by a fourth man, which was later found abandoned on Arncliffe Close, Hindley.
Detective Sergeant Paul Rollinson of GMP’s Wigan Division said: “We would appeal for anyone who witnessed this incident, or has any information, to contact police immediately.
“Maybe you saw the car in the Platt Bridge area at the time of the incident, or later in Hindley.
“We are following several lines of enquiry and even the smallest detail might help bring the offenders to justice.”
Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 7225 or the independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
