Appeal made after 84 year old man is injured in a fail to stop collision

An 84 year old pedestrian was seriously injured at the weekend in after being involved in a collision in Blackpool. The collision occurred at about 4:30pm on Saturday 11th April, on Johnsville Avenue, Blackpool close to the junction with Highfield Road.

It is thought that a red car, which had been travelling from Highfield Road, was involved in a collision with the pedestrian which has caused him to fall to the ground. Following the incident, the vehicle which had been involved never stopped and continued along Johnsville Avenue.

The pedestrian suffered a broken pelvis and also an injury to his elbow and was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment.

PC Adam Crossley, Road Policing Unit, said ‘This is a collision where an elderly gentleman has received serious injuries and I would appeal to anyone who either witnessed the incident or were in the vicinity at the time to come forward.’
