100 mums join FAB new Facebook page

More than 100 Lancashire mums have signed-up to a new Facebook group which gives them information and support to help with breastfeeding.

The group enables women to chat to one another throughout their pregnancy and while they are breastfeeding.

The service is provided by Families and Babies (FAB) a local organisation commissioned by Lancashire County Council to support mums who want to breastfeed.

A fully trained FAB peer supporter called Eleanor Milk is available to provide advice on the group between 11am-2pm, Monday to Friday.

Other volunteers provide information and advice on the group and FAB encourages all mums in the group to support each other and share their experiences.

It’s a closed page, so you have to fill in a short online form to join.

In addition to the Facebook page, FAB provides bedside support on maternity wards, home visits and phone and text message advice.

It also offers training for women who have breastfed and want to become peer support volunteers.

You can sign-up to the Facebook support page here
