A fabulous fleet of cars was on display in Ormskirk town centre to give people a mouth-watering preview of what they are likely to see at one of the biggest free family events in the North West.

Ormskirk MotorFest 2015 takes place Sunday 30 August and thousands of people will visit Ormskirk to see between 250 and 300 cars and motorcycles from all eras of motoring on display in Coronation Park and Ormskirk town centre.

People were given a taste of what this year’s MotorFest will have to offer when a number of classic vehicles were displayed outside Marks and Spencer on Saturday 27 June to officially launch the countdown to Ormskirk MotorFest 2015. The display was also organised to support National Motorsport Week, and vehicles on show included an MG ZR Race Saloon; a Dallara Formula 3 race car; a 1981 Mercedes 280 SL; and a 1947 MG TC Roadster.

Ormskirk MotorFest is organised each year by Aintree Circuit Club with the support of West Lancashire Borough Council. Organisers are busy planning this year’s event as 2015 marks the 60th anniversary of the first time Aintree hosted the British Grand Prix.

Councillor John Hodson, portfolio holder for Planning and Development, said: “There were some marvellous vehicles on display in Ormskirk on Saturday 27 June, and this line-up was a great way of giving people a glimpse of what treats will be in store on the big day. Make sure you put the date of 30 August in your diary so you don’t miss the fantastic free Ormskirk MotorFest.”

Mike Ashcroft, Aintree Circuit Club chairman, said: “We are planning some great attractions to make the MotorFest a great day out for all the family. This year we also have a Concours de Elegance competition for the first time which will see some of the really top class vehicles at the MotorFest in a special display in Coronation Park.”

If you have a vintage, classic, competition or exciting car or motorcycle that you would like to display at the MotorFest, and or the Concours de Elegance please go to www.ormskirkmotorfest.com.
