Macclesfield arrive having accumulated 76 points from their 32 games and have not lost a game since November, whilst United are in 9th spot in the Pitching-In NPL West with 45 points, more importantly for Skem is that they are just 4 points from a Play-off place.
United will go into the game full of confidence, having racked up their 5th straight win on Saturday, 2-1 at Mossley.
Manager Richard Brodie is looking forward to the encounter “As I have said we have nothing to lose, they are runaway leaders and boast a number of players with Football League experience, but we are on a good run of form, we gave them a good go back at their place so they know they won’t get an easy ride. Its football, its 90 minutes, you never know what might happen, but I know my lads will be going out there come 3pm and will be giving it their all.”
There is NO Everton or Liverpool on this weekend or any other Premier games, so get on down, purchase your tickets and get down to support your local club.
Ahead of the big game United have lost the services of both Matty Hamilton & Sam Sheen, Matty has had two spells with the club and will be best remembered for his spectacular goal against Mossley that won him the NPL Goal of the Month Competition, whilst Sam has been a regular in the side since his arrival in November 2021 and was part of the United team that won the Promotion Play-off side that won 5-1 at Cinderford last season, Sam suffered a bad injury in his last game at Clitheroe in January. The club would like to thank both players for their commitment to the “blue shirt” and wish them both well in the future.
