A Lecturer from West Lancashire College is celebrating after achieving a Master’s Degree in Education and Social Justice from Lancaster University.

Business Studies Lecturer Catherine Shiel has been studying this brand new programme, which is delivered 100% online, for the last 2 years. Catherine chose the course as she wanted to develop research expertise and develop knowledge of social justice issues in education systems, engaging and learning from students and tutors from a range of continents and countries.

Catherine said “Studying for my Masters over the last two years has given me the opportunity to reflect on my practice in a way I never imagined.  I have developed my knowledge by exploring new areas of research and writing in teaching, learning and curriculum design.

The programme has given me the confidence to make improvements to my own practice that are benefitting my students and improving their learning experience.”

Congratulations Catherine, the staff and students at West Lancashire College are very proud of you!
