The judging panel for the 2015 E3 Business Awards has now been named. The organiser, 1 Events Media has brought together fifteen judges from the fields of business, social enterprise, academia and the public sector. Using their considerable collective experience, the judges will begin to assess the candidates after the close of nominations on Friday 27th March.
The judging process will entail an examination of written submissions from businesses and individual entrepreneurs across the North West. This will be followed by interviews with all shortlisted nominees.
There are 16 award categories this year and the winners will be announced at the E3 Awards evening, which will take place on Thursday 11th June at the Macron Stadium in Bolton. Nominations are currently still open and companies wishing to submit an entry can do so via the E3 Awards website – www.e3businessawards.co.uk.
The E3 Awards are intended to be as inclusive as possible so in addition to mainstream businesses, the hosts are keen to encourage applications from women, young entrepreneurs, social enterprises, people from minority ethnic backgrounds and those coping with disability. Given this focus on diversity, the judging panel has been selected for its broad range of experience and its understanding of different sectors, communities and scales of enterprise.

“Some of this year’s judges were winners at the 2014 Awards,” notes 1EM managing director, Mubarak Chati. “That’s great because it means they’ll already have experience of the application process and because they clearly understand what it takes to be a winner.
“With the remainder of the panel, we have an outstanding array of skills and experience. What’s particularly important is that their expertise relates not to only to the world of business but also to social and environmental considerations. The E3 Awards are about celebrating enterprise, education and employment – three key factors that help drive the North West economy – so it was essential that we created a panel of people with the breadth experience to judge the wider impacts of successful businesses and entrepreneurs. We’ve certainly done that this year and I’d like to thank all the judges for taking part.”
