Information evening for potential foster carers

0

Do you think you could join the hundreds of foster carers doing the ‘best job in the world’, sharing their lives with children who need a home? Come along to find out more, have a cup of tea and a chat with experienced social workers at an information evening on: Tuesday 10 November 2015, 6pm at Parent and Child Support Service, 325 Burnley Road, Colne, BB8 8LA.

Everyone is welcome.

Lancashire County Council acts as the ‘corporate’ parent for about 1600 children and young people from birth to 18. All of these children and young people need homes where they can feel wanted, safe, and secure.

The county council are currently recruiting foster carers to look after the children who come through their social work teams every week, from newborn babies to teenagers. They would particularly welcome enquiries from anyone able to provide care and support to school age children and siblings groups.

If you are over 21, have a spare room available and want to work with children in your own home, becoming a foster carer for your Local Authority could be a real option for you. A generous allowance, excellent support and training is available to the right people for the job.

If you’re unable to come along on the night, call their friendly fostering recruitment team on 0300 123 6723 or visit the website: www.lancashire.gov.uk/fostering
