Information appeal made to trace woman following road collision in Accrington

An appeal for information to trace a woman who ran off after a road collision has been made by police. Police were called at around 4am on January 1st, after a red Peugeot 106 had collided with the back of a stationary Mazda 6 parked on Albert Street in Accrington. No-one was injured.

A woman was seen to run off from the scene, and police are no keen to trace the woman as a possible witness. The woman has been described as being white, aged 20-30 years approximately 5’7” tall and having long dark hair.

Three men aged 26, 27 and 28 were arrested following the collision. The 28 year old man Robert Jeruzalski, of Albert Street, Accrington, has been charged with drink driving, having no licence or insurance and is due to appear at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on January 19th. The other two men were released no further action.

Det Sgt Ian Procter, of East CID, said ‘We are keen to trace this woman as a witness and to ensure her safety and I would appeal for anyone with information to contact us. I would also ask the woman herself to get in touch with us if she sees this appeal.’
