An appeal for information has been made by police officers after an 83 year old man suffered serious injuries on his driveway on Sunday 4th January 2015. Officers believe that the gentleman had been working on his car, a Chevrolet Lacetti estate, when he suffered multiple injuries on Twickenham Drive, Leasowe.

The man was found by neighbours and passers-by on the road at the end of his drive, with his car at about 2:35pm, and the man was taken to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital suffering from multiple injuries. The man’s condition has been described as being critical but stable.

Sgt Craig O’Brien said ‘We believe that the gentleman had been working on his car. He suffered multiple injuries, which we believe were caused as a result of a collision with his own car, and we are trying to establish what happened. At this stage there is nothing to suggest anything criminal, but we would like to speak to anyone who may have any information so that we can establish what happened.’

Anybody who has got any information has been asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 0151 777 5747.
