Information appeal made after fatal collision in Scarisbrick

An information appeal has been made by police after a fatal collision in Scarisbrick yesterday evening. The incident occurred at about 6pm on Tuesday 6th January on the A570 Southport Road near to The Villa café when a Peugeot Horizon and a Toyota Carina were involved in a head on collision.

One person sadly died in the collision and two people sustained serious injuries. Their families are being supported by specially trained officers.

It is also believed that a BMW saloon car was also involved in the incident, but that it failed to stop and it drove towards the direction of Southport.

PS John Jennings Wharton of the Road Policing Unit said ‘I would urge anyone with any information about the collision to contact us. Someone out there knows who was driving the BMW and I plead to their conscience for them to come forward and report what they know to us as soon as possible.’

Anybody who has got any information can get in touch with Lancashire Police on 101 quoting log number LC-20150106-0951.

Alternatively, people can get in touch with Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or they can go online at Crimestoppers-uk.org. There are no personal details taken, no information is traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
