An appeal for information has been made by police after a boy was robbed of his mobile phone at a park in Blackburn. At about 6pm on Saturday 5th September the 11 year old boy was approached by two offenders while he had been playing in Corporation Park. The offenders struck up a conversation with the victim, before they have pushed him to the ground and have then stole his Samsung Galaxy S6 mobile phone from him. The offenders have then run off from the scene.

The boy suffered minor injuries, which included a graze to his knee.

Both of the offenders have been described as being Asian, aged approximately 17 -18 years old, 5ft 8in tall and of a skinny build. The first male had black hair and had been wearing jeans while the second male had been wearing a baseball cap with a flat peak, a red Adidas jacket with white stripes and black Adidas trainers.

DC 1385 Emma Oldham of Blackburn CID said ‘This was a nasty incident involving a young boy who was simply playing in the park. I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened or who recognises the description of these two males to contact us with any information.’
