Improvement works on Holcroft Lane

Improvement works on Holcroft Lane will be starting on Holcroft lane on Monday 27 July and will last about six weeks.

The repair and resurfacing works are taking place on Holcroft Lane from A574 Warrington Road, Culcheth to Glazebrook Lane, about 500 metres south of M62.

They will take place between 9.15am to 3.15pm, Monday to Friday. There may be some weekend working.

Road closures

For the first two weeks Holcroft Lane will be open to traffic but there will be temporary traffic lights to control traffic flow.
From 10 August, Holcroft Lane will be closed to traffic between Warrington Road, Culcheth, and Woolden Road, Glazebrook, for 4 weeks during working hours.
All roads will be open outside working hours.
Access for residents and businesses along the closed sections of road will be under the control of the contractor.

Proposed diversion route:

Via A574 Warrington Road Culcheth and Risley, Birchwood Park Avenue, Birchwood Way, B5210 Woolston Grange Avenue, A57 Manchester Road, B5212 Glazebrook Lane.

Public transport arrangements

Rural Rider 192 service will be diverted. See notices on bus stops.
School buses will run as normal.

The council apologises for any inconvenience caused while the improvement works are carried out.
