Home Safari Animal Assisted Therapy opened a Kids Club a little over a year ago in Peel House, on Peel Road, Pimbo, in Skelmersdale. The Kids Club is for disabled children in the community and is run by a small number of volunteers and is attended by many families from the Skelmersdale and Wigan areas on a regular basis.
Any child is welcome to attend the Kids Club, especially children with disabilities and their siblings. Amongst the activities on offer are Animal Assisted Therapy and animal interactions which take place every week. Also on offer are interactions arts and crafts, well being meetings and it is a generally safe place to be.
As a way to help to fund the Kids Club the kitchen was open for takeaways. These can be either ordered by phone or by just popping in as you are passing by.
Kids Club is every Sunday 10-30 – 1 and 1:30-4, booking is essential. An after school club will soon be starting, taking place between 3:15 – 6. Rainbows takes place Thursdays to Sundays.
