Skelmersdale United Youth Academy produced a thrilling performance on Tuesday as they thrashed Runcorn Town 6-0 in the FA Youth Cup, Goals from Adam Donahue 2, Jordan Dainty 2, Josh Niblock 2 saw a rampant United through to the next round of the competition, where they will travel to Wythenshawe Amateurs date TBC. A big thank you to the supporters and the young standbangers who made the night most memorable.

Coach Graham Hastings was delighted “We did well last season in our first year but the lads have come on leaps and bounds, the performance was nothing short of stunning, we dominated from start to finish and you have to remember that Runcorn are no mugs, I was delighted with that performance, the support was outstanding”.

The youngsters start their league campaign on Sunday 4th October with a trip to Oldham to face Avro FC.

It was “Double” celebration on the night for the club, as the first team travelled to Prescot Cables for a Pre-season game. Cables, a division higher were brushed aside in a dominating second half performance, Danny Mitchley getting two, Tom Croughan and youngster Gabriel Ellis giving United a 4-0 win.

All bodes well for this Saturdays FA Cup tie at Congleton.

United’s next Home game is Saturday 19th September when they face Stockport Town in the FA Vase, kick off at the One Call Stadium@JMO 3pm.
