It is really important that we all play our part to beat coronavirus.
If you have symptoms, please think of your friends, family and your local community and make sure you self-isolate and get a test.
Having symptoms of coronavirus can be very worrying, but by getting a test you can protect the people you care about.
The symptoms are probably well-known to all of us, but here they are again just to make sure:
- Loss/change in sense of smell
- Loss/change in sense of taste
- High temperature
- New continuous cough
It is free to get a test and if you have symptoms then you can book with the mobile testing unit at West Lancashire College on Saturday 19 September between 10.30am and 3.30pm by visiting visit the NHS.uk dedicated COVID-19 testing site alternatively you can dial 119.
You must book in advance in order to get a test, , and you will only be able to book from the previous evening.
Coronavirus can affect anyone, from any community. So we’ll all need to do what we can to reduce the spread.
Councillor Ian Moran, Leader of West Lancashire Borough Council: “There are a lot of myths about coronavirus, for example that it only affects older people, while some may think that because they don’t know anyone who has had the risk isn’t so great.
“But coronavirus is a very real risk to our communities and can affect people of all ages. Please play your part and get a test if you have symptoms.”
