Foodie Friday returns this month to coincide with the Christmas Lights switch on

The popular Foodie Friday is returning to Huyton Village Centre on Friday, 16 November 2018 from 4.30pm until 8pm.

The event also coincides with the Christmas light switch on so it’s definitely a date for your diary!

Foodie Friday offers great street food, craft ales and live entertainment. There’s also free parking for the event council-owned carparks including Archway Road and Lathom Road for visitors to the event as well as children’s entertainment on offer including face painting.

Returning to Huyton Village Centre will be the popular stalls including I Knead Pizza, Tapas Yala Carta, Crepe Chateau and local business Bexley’s. A new trader, Dutch Fishman, will be coming along to the next events offering fish and chips. Entertainment will once again be provided by local artists.

And there’s no need to worry about the weather, organisers have thought of everything and there’ll be additional cover, lighting and seating available, come rain or shine!

The Christmas lights switch on will be at 6.30pm and this year’s lights will be bigger and better than ever thanks to a partnership between the council and Knowsley Housing Trust. Lights and festive decorations will be displayed around Derby Road, Cavendish Walk and Sherbourne Square.

Tony Cahill, Executive Director at Knowsley Housing Trust, said “Knowsley Housing Trust has supported the Christmas lights in Huyton for the last two years and we’re delighted to support it once again. This is a key event to support the wider development plans in the area, attracting more residents and visitors into Huyton.”

Councillor Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council, added “If you haven’t already, I would urge you to come along as it provides a great opportunity to socialise with family, friends and colleagues, plus our Christmas light switch on is one not to be missed!”

Foodie Friday event organiser, Joe Barratt, said “I’m delighted that our Foodie Friday events have been so successful in Huyton and we hope this next one is even bigger and better than ever! If you’re a local business and would like to get involved in sponsoring our next events, please get in touch with me as we’d like to continue to build on the success we’ve already delivered for the benefit of the local community.”
