Excitement for new cinema getting reel in Chorley

Bosses of the company behind the plans for a six-screen cinema in Chorley town centre revealed their excitement at bringing a new entertainment offer for all the family.

Representatives from Reel Cinema visited the construction site for the £15 million Market Walk extension last week and say they cannot wait to get started on site.

Their visit came just days after a local operator announced plans for an adventure golf and tenpin bowling alley as part of the Chorley Council-run development.

Muhammad Faisal, Head of Operations at Reel Cinemas, said: “We are really excited about coming to Chorley bringing the cinema and we’re delighted to announce it will come with an all-inclusive VIP recliner seat offer providing affordable luxury seating entertainment for everyone.”

“We want people to come here and be able to forget about everything for a few hours and enjoy themselves with family and friends.

“The building is really impressive and we can’t wait to get started. We’ve been following developments in Chorley very closely and it’s great to see so many people are looking forward to the cinema opening.”

The visit was all part of the cinema operators plans to prepare for the handover of the unit so they can start fitting it out the unit in a few week’s time.

As well as the six-screens, the biggest of which will accommodate 200 people at a time, there will be the usual refreshments and concessions available as well as licensed bar.

Councillor Alistair Bradley, Leader of Chorley Council, said: “Whenever we’ve asked people what they’d like to see in Chorley or what would make them visit more a cinema always comes top of the list so it’s great that we are only a few months away from delivering what residents have told us they would like to see.

“Looking at the feedback we’ve had since we announced Reel Cinemas would be opening in Chorley it is going to be really popular and I know many people are pleased to have an offer like this in the town centre so they can spend their money in Chorley rather than having to travel outside of the borough.

“We’ve been impressed by the quality of experience that Muhammad and his team will bring to Chorley and we can’t wait to see it open.”

The cinema will be joined by an M&S Foodhall and plans to bring an adventure golf and bowling alley to the development, off Union Street, have been made public. Discussions are also progressing with Loungers and a number of other restaurant providers.

The development is expected to open at the start of December this year.
