Everton are looking to welcome back Romelu Lukaku after his hamstring injury. Leon Osman is a doubt for the game with his groin injury, while it is unlikely that Bryan Oviedo and Aiden McGeady will feature although they have both returned to training.

Apart from their long-term absentees, Dean Marney and Kevin Long, Burnley are at full strength.

Match Preview

Everton will be looking to get back to winning ways after they will have felt that they lost two points against Swansea in their last game. In what has been a disappointing season, Everton will be looking to finish the season as strongly as possible to increase their confidence for going into next season. There will be a number of players who will be feeling that they have not performed as well as possible this season, and they will be looking for an improvement over the coming games to help them to figure prominently in the coming season.

There is also the matter of trying to finish the season as high as possible in the league and hopefully to end the season in the top half of the table. Although the season has been a disappointment when compared to the successes of the previous season, there has been a few positive points to look back on. Among these positives is the form of young players such as John Stones, who has continued his performances from last season. Another positive from this season has been Luke Garbutt, he has shown that he has great potential and has offered a look at the future replacement for Leighton Baines; this will he allayed many fears for Everton fans over how to replace the hugely influential Baines in the future.

Burnley will look back on this season as being a learning experience as to what is needed to compete at the Premier League level. Although they have performed quite well during the season, they have been slightly lacking over the course of the season to be really competitive. Should Burnley be relegated at the end of the season, they should be in a stronger position if they manage to make a return to the premier League in the future. Burnley need to be admired for not spending a lot of money on new layers when they were promoted in an effort to try and remain in the Premier League, they showed great loyalty in giving the players who got them promoted the chance to play in the Premier League.

Match Prediction

Everton will be feeling the more confident of the sides today; they have hit a better run of form over recent games than they had shown all season. Everton have got a number of players returning from injuries recently and they have managed to add a little impetus to their run-in to the seasons end and I feel that this will be of benefit to Everton in this game. I think that the added bonus of playing at home will push Everton on to what should be a fairly comfortable 3-1 victory.
