The annual Green Fayre is among many enjoyable free family events which are being organised by West Lancashire Borough Council Rangers in local parks during July.

The Green Fayre will be hosted by Beacon Country Park, which will provide a celebration of the countryside and of countryside living. The event will be taking place on Saturday 25th July and Sunday 26th July from 11am-5pm on both days. It is expected that there will be thousands of people going along to enjoy a variety of wonderful attractions and family entertainment, which includes working woodlands and craft demonstrations, falconry and dog shows, bouncy castles, and a traditional funfair.

The 2015 event will have a new attraction, this is the bar area, which will be selling a small range of craft beers, ciders and wines. The folk marquee will be headlined by Hannah James, who is an internationally renowned accordion player, clog-dancer and vocalist. Hannah will be supported by a number of local talented musicians, who will be playing varieties of folk and traditional music.

Further information about the Green Fayre can be found by visiting Green Fayre.

The portfolio holder for Leisure, Councillor Yvonne Gagen, said ‘The Green Fayre is the biggest event in the Council’s annual parks and countryside events programme and is a fantastic day out for all the family, so make sure you don’t miss it.
