Do you need help with budgeting for the winter? Are you unclear on your consumer rights? Or maybe you want to know more about voting in the Borough’s upcoming by-election?

Sometimes it’s hard to know where to turn when we have important questions or need advice. So West Lancashire Borough Council is getting together with its partners for an ‘Information Day’ at the Concourse, Skelmersdale, on Wednesday October 19 from 9am to 5.30pm on the ground floor by the Citizens Advice Bureau.

Residents will be able to talk to officers from the Council and its partners to find out about lots of topics and issues including money and debt advice, policing, benefits, trading standards, elections, recycling and more.

We understand that with the cost of living rising and Christmas looming on the horizon, many people may be worried about making ends meet, so there will be lots of people on hand to help with this specifically, such as the Council’s Money Advice Team, West Lancs Citizens Advice Bureau and the Birchwood Centre.

Councillor Yvonne Gagen, Leader of West Lancashire Borough Council, said: “We know this is a worrying time for many and it can seem like you’re isolated with nowhere to turn. Please come down to speak to our experts who will be able to give you really good, practical advice on things like budgeting, benefits, housing and how to look after your wellbeing.

“And if you have a question about something completely different, such as our beautiful green spaces, or how to keep safe this Bonfire Night, we’re here to help you, so please drop by for a chat.”

Council officers and partners at the event will include:

  • WLBC Environmental Enforcement Team
  • WLBC Leisure Team (Health & Wellbeing)
  • WLBC Elections Team
  • WLBC Housing
  • WLBC Countryside Rangers
  • WLBC Human Resources Team
  • WLBC Rent and Money Advice Teams
  • WLBC Waste and Recycling Promotions Officer
  • Birchwood Centre
  • Lancashire Police
  • Loan Sharks Advice Team
  • Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service
  • West Lancs Citizen Advice Bureau
  • Dees Counselling Service
