West Lancashire Borough Council would like to make our residents aware that the coronavirus testing unit planned for Sandy Lane in Skelmersdale has been delayed due to an unforeseen technical site issue for the contractor.

The site had been planned to open on 11 November on the overflow car park close to Sandy Lane Health Centre.

We are working with the site delivery team to make sure the test centre does open as soon as possible.

If you have symptoms of coronavirus you can book a test at the permanent site at Edge Hill University at www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or by calling 119.

There will also be a mobile testing unit at West Lancashire College on Saturday 14 November and Sunday 15 November between 10.30am and 3.30pm. Booking for this site will only open on Friday evening at www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test, and can also be accessed from that time on 119.

For more details on testing at these site please visit www.westlancs.gov.uk/more/emergencies/coronavirus/testing-sites-for-coronavirus.aspx.
