Library members in St Helens partial to a bit of Marvel are now just a click away from having hundreds of comics at their disposal thanks to a ‘super’ new service.

Digital service, RB Digital Comics has been introduced to St Helens Libraries Service – giving avid comics fans 24/7 access to a range of the very best Marvel titles available to read via Android, Apple, Kindle Fire or PC.

With a roster of well-loved characters such as Avengers, Black Panther, Captain America, Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man and X-Men; library members get to experience these thrilling adventures first hand – for free.

St Helens Council’s portfolio holder for libraries, Councillor Anthony Burns said: “The Marvel Universe is absolutely massive, with comics and films enjoyed by children and adults around the world.

“Any form of reading, whether it’s a classic novel or a comic book, is something that we as a library service will always look to encourage.

“I’m delighted to see that we have capitalised on the popularity of Marvel by introducing this offer which is sure to be a hit with our younger members and given that it’s free to use, hopefully lead to more children, young people – and comic fans in general – reaping the benefits of becoming a St Helens Libraries Service member.”
