A recruitment event with a difference is taking place in Knowsley in September, lead by social workers themselves.
The virtual recruitment event is a chance for anyone interested in working for Knowsley Council to hear first-hand what it is like.
“We know that taking the next step in your career is a big decision – and in a profession like social care, you want to be sure that you are going to be well supported, given a manageable case load, and the opportunity to feel fulfilled,” explained Cllr Margaret Harvey, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services.
“That’s why we’re saying to social workers – come and find out first hand what it’s like here in Knowsley before you even apply for one of our jobs. And, if you like what you hear, you can be interviewed without even having to fill in a form beforehand.”
The Virtual Recruitment Event will take place on Tuesday, 6 September 2022 at 5pm. Social workers interested to know more can register, log on to the online event, ask questions and find out about the various opportunities on offer at Knowsley Council.
And there’s no need for candidates to spend hours beforehand preparing their CV or filling in an application form, without knowing if they’ll even get an interview. Instead, anyone with a social work qualification who attends the event can choose to go straight to a virtual interview there and then!
With social workers much in demand across the country, the council hopes the Virtual Event will show potential candidates that Knowsley is a place where their careers can thrive and they’ll be given the time they need to do the job they love, well.
