It’s a year since staff at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust began receiving their Covid-19 vaccinations.

As well as protecting staff from infection, the vaccination programme has helped protect patients, friends, families, and loved ones.

A total of 9,654 people have received Covid vaccinations, including close relatives of staff and people working in local health and social care services. Since the booster programme was launched in the autumn, 3,029 people have so far received their top-up vaccination.

Tina Hill, retired paediatric sister and now a vaccinator for the Trust said: “It’s great to see how successful the campaign has been to get people protected and to save lives.’’

The vaccination programme was led by the Health and Wellbeing team based at Ormskirk hospital.
