Car parking charges across Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust sites will be reinstated next week following eight months of suspension.

Charges for patients and visitors were suspended in response to the Covid-19 pandemic back in March, however, in line with Trusts across Greater Manchester, charges will return from Monday, 2nd November.

Jason Carr, Car Parking and Security Manager said: “We wish we could do more and we’re thankful for everyone’s co-operation and patience during this time, but unfortunately we do have to reinstate parking charges for patients and visitors across all of WWL sites.

“Due to ongoing building work in response to the pandemic at our Royal Albert Edward Infirmary site there is still limited parking so we would urge those attending for appointments to allow time to find suitable parking.”

Car parking is available on a Pay and Display basis and applies to all cars parks and includes disabled areas. Costs are as follows:

Up to 30 minutes drop off  – Free
Up to two hours –  £2.70
Between two and four hours – £5.00
Over four hours – £6.50

Parking charges for staff continue to be waived until further notice.
