Today our social inclusion team have been engaging with the community and surrounding areas for nearly 12 months. During that time, we have set up sessional work, befriended local people, supported language classes, filmed education food videos, and continued to offer our Birchwood community shop. Not just this but we have helped people gain employment as well as volunteering. All the while keeping up to date with the new local Covid guidelines and rules. We have more ideas in the pipeline, and we hope to roll them out soon.
Psy-Tap Therapy
Psy-tap, (Psycho-sensory techniques and Practices) is known in the therapy world for its super speed and rapid long-lasting results and is causing a stir among therapists across the globe, with many clients leaving after only one session stating that their issue is resolved.
Birchwood will be offering FREE 2hr sessions every Tuesday evening, for anyone who feels they have tried everything else.

Gardens Group
All are welcome. You do not need any gardening knowledge or expertise. We are keen to involve all sections of our community, and we are open to ideas and suggestions for individual and community benefit. We are enthusiastic amateurs with a varied range of knowledge and experience.

Veterans Breakfast Club
The purpose behind Birchwood’s Veteran’s Breakfast Club is to support veterans and serving Armed Forces personnel to meet face-to-face in a relaxed, safe and social environment to enjoy breakfast and banter, to combat loneliness and allow them to return to the world they know. There are no subs or memberships fees and our breakfast is free for all attending.

Birchwood Wonder ponder:
A gentle stroll around the wilds of Skelmersdale, sometimes we pick up litter, feed the ducks or go for a forest walk and learn about our natural wildlife and flowers, whiles having a mindful chat with friends.

Birchwood Art class:
Offers a mixture of different arts and crafts. Come along and learn how to draw, paint, create walking staffs and learn many other mindful art projects with friends

Birchwood Digital inclusion:
Is designed for people who are new to computers, smart phones & wi-fi. It is also for people who would like to improve their multi-media skills. We teach photoshop, video editing, online marketing, and many other computer programs.

Birchwood knitting chatter:
Is a delightful knit and chat group, held every second Saturday. We serve butties and tea and is a lovely way to make new friends and socialise.

Loss & Bereavement Support Group
Is a casual peer support for those effected by grief and loss who may need to speak to someone in a safe and welcoming environment?

Cooking by Birchwood:
Interactive online cooking session using the power of food to help improve mental wellness, all levels welcome and Birchwood will provide the ingredients if needed.
