Big chance for local performers

Music and dance groups are being invited to stake their claim for a place at St Helens Live 2015.

Eight slots are up for grabs between April and December as St Helens Council looks to build on the success of last year’s event – which raised the profile of many community organisations taking part.

The St Helens Live programme aims to enrich the town’s cultural diversity through live music, dance and theatre performances. ”

Last year’s event saw a range of popular performances by local groups including Haydock Male Voice Choir, St Helens Sinfonietta, Mason Brown Connection and Silhouette Dance Club – highlighting both local talent and the excellent facilities available at St Helens Town Hall.

St Helens Council leader, Barrie Grunewald, said: “We’re keen to promote local talent at every opportunity – and St Helens Live is the ideal showcase. We want to hear from anyone who thinks they can fit the bill.”

To apply for a place at St Helens Live 2015, contact the Events Team on 01744 676360 or email suzannedavies@sthelens.gov.uk for an application form and return to the council before the deadline on Friday 27 February, 2015.
