The Town Green Brasserie in Aughton has officially opened its doors to customers, to the delight of many locals who have been eagerly anticipating its launch.

The interior is inspired by the relaxed style of French eateries, the Town Green Brasserie now serves food from breakfast through to the evening, seven days a week, with a lunch club menu and coffee and cake offering also available during the day. Seafood features on the new menu, caught off the Lancashire coast each morning and selected by renowned Fleetwood fish expert Chris Neve.

The Town Green Brasserie also serves an extensive range of drinks, with a dedicated cocktail menu and feature bronze wine wall containing a wide choice of award winning white, red, rose and sparkling wines.

“There has been a real buzz throughout Aughton, Ormskirk and Formby about the opening of the Town Green Brasserie,” said Paul Freeman, general manager.

“Locals have been really excited about having a new, quality dining option on their doorstep. They have been really keen for us to open so that they can try our new menu and daily changing specials.

“Coming from Southport myself, I am looking forward to helping to establish the new venue and to build up relationships with individuals and businesses in the area.”

New owners, the Seafood Pub Company, were recently named The Publican’s Best Food Offer for 2 – 50 Sites award winner and Restaurant magazine’s R200 Pub Group of the Year.

The Seafood Pub Company, which owns six other venues in Lancashire, invested in an extensive refurbishment of the Town Green Lane site after buying it in January this year. Guests are now welcomed by features including a bronze bar, French gold light fittings and antique mirrors on the walls. Oak flooring is complemented by black and white chequerboard tiles.

“The acquisition of the Town Green offered us the perfect opportunity to extend our reach further into West Lancashire,” said Seafood Pub Company managing director Joycelyn Neve, who was named Lancashire and Cheshire Life’s Food Hero of the Year in 2014.

“We’re proud of the reputation we have for delivering great food, great service and great surroundings and are looking forward to developing this in Aughton by becoming a welcome part of the local community.”

Prior to opening its doors to the public, local businesses, councillors and media were invited to a special taster evening.

Aughton Councillor, Mrs Una Atherley, commented: “I was very impressed with the new look Town Green Brasserie and the tasters of the new menu served at the preview event. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I would like to wish the new team all the very best for the future in Aughton.”
