Detectives are appealing for help to trace a man they want to speak to after a firearms discharge.

Police were called at shortly after 6pm on Friday (Feb 28th) to a report that a shotgun had been discharged outside an address on Feltons in Skelmersdale.

Fortunately no-one was injured by the discharge.

Police are appealing for witnesses and following enquiries now want to speak to Richard Shacklady (pictured) in connection with the incident.

Shacklady, 29, is described as white, slim to medium build, 6ft tall, short light brown hair. He has tattoos on his neck and right arm and a sleeve tattoo on his left arm.

He has links to Skelmersdale, Merseyside, Wigan and Standish.

Det Sgt Pete Reil, of South CID, said: “While we believe this was a targeted incident we are treating it extremely seriously as it is only a matter of good fortune that no-one was seriously hurt. I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious on Friday evening to get in touch and I would urge anyone who knows where Richard Shacklady is or who sees him to contact us. I would also ask Richard himself to come forward if he sees this appeal so that we can speak with him.”

Anyone who sees Shacklady should not approach him but should contact police. Please call 101 quoting log 1130 of Feb 28th or independent charity Crimestoppers. For immediate sightings dial 999.
