A safe welcome for West Lancashire shoppers

welcome

We want to support local retail businesses and shoppers as much as possible and to ensure everyone is safe when the shops can once again reopen.

There will be lots of signage in Ormskirk Town Centre reminding shoppers to keep a safe distance and we have been surveying local retailers on how we can help them meet the social distancing rules for their customers.

Parking charges will remain suspended in Council-run car parks until at least 1st September 2020 to help support the recovery of the town centre.

The layout of the market has been carefully considered and we will only reopen the market if the 5 Covid tests are met locally as set out by Lancashire’s Director of Public Health.

Councillor Ian Moran, Leader of the Council, said: “The safety of those working and shopping in the town centre is our top priority and we are taking steps to help everyone keep safe. Traders are keen to welcome visitors back, and please remember if you are out shopping stay two metres apart from others at all times when outside your home.”
